I've been considering picking up a WASR and I am curious of the differences between these two. In for the answer. If i remember correctly the 10/63's were made out of surplus parts, whereas the 10's are new production parts. I bought a WASR10 about 8 or 9 years ago. It was about $150 cheaper than the SAR1. You used to be able to get the SAR 1,2 and 3 at any gun store.The WASR takes standard AK handguards, pistol grips, buttstocks, triggers, and so on.
